About the Den

Beige is a cry for help

Dopamine Den is a loud little corner of the internet for people who think beige is a cry for help.

We believe your home should make you grin the second you walk in. Not in a showroom way — in a that clashing cushion was a great decision way. Here you will find full room makeovers, wild-but-doable DIY projects and a lot of paint swatches taped to walls.

The Den rules

  • More is more. Pattern on pattern, colour on colour. Then add a lamp shaped like a mushroom.
  • Joy over trends. If it makes you happy, it belongs. If it only looks good on a mood board, it does not.
  • Make, don’t just buy. Thrift it, paint it, glue sequins on it. Most of our projects cost less than a takeaway for two.
  • Renters welcome. Peel-and-stick, removable and landlord-proof ideas are always flagged.

Who’s behind it

A small crew of colour addicts, thrift-shop regulars and chronic furniture re-arrangers. We test every project in real homes — including the disasters, which we will also tell you about.
